MICROSOFT OFFICE 365:
Our school had introduced Office 365 to our Staff from January 2019 & our Students from September 2019, so we had developed both ours & the students’ capacity to use this platform productively over the last 6 months. As recently as this month, we received additional Continuous Professional Development during our Transition Year Work Experience week, which further prepared us for the initial School Closure.
During the first week of Closure, teacher’s were busy setting work for their classes & keeping the Teaching & Learning going. A minority of Students have not benefitted fully from this, through reasons of their own as they struggled to record or recall their Usernames &/or Passwords.
Sample Username= YourChild.CM20@cmj.ie Explained = First Name, Surname, Dot, Coláiste Mhuire, Year they started school with us.
Passwords have a minimum of 6 characters. We recommend Students set-up their Mobile Phone number as a way to retrieve Forgotten Passwords via a PIN.
We thank the Parents / Guardians who were proactive in this regard and contacted the School Office to have their Log In details Re-Set & sent back out by Text Message. We urge others to check with their children to verify that they are indeed gaining access.
Teacher’s too have flagged some students, as they can monitor Engagement from their respective Teams in Office 365. Parents have been contacted in this regard & Year Heads will monitor this regularly going forward.
