Students and staff at Coláiste Mhuire have had a number of Guest Speakers in recent weeks in the areas of Mental Health & Body Image.  Should you require any further information on any of the topics mentioned below, please click on the links for the relevant groups or  feel free to contact the School Office on 056-8831135.

First, was Jo from Aware who spoke on the area of mental health.  She described the symptoms of Depression using the acronym FESTIVAL (see below) as well as discussing a number of coping skills, such as the Coping Triangle.  Jo also raised awareness for Aware’s #ItGetsBrighter & #ItsTheLittleThings Mental Health campaigns.

Secondly, we had Fiona from BodyWhys who discussed the area of Body Image and related eating disorders.  Fiona also promoted their National Eating Disorder Awareness week, which runs from February 23rd to March 1st.  There is also a course in Kilkenny for Friends/Family members who may be living with or supporting someone with an eating disorder (see poster below).
